    Having a passion for cars his entire life, owner Tim Maguire began attending SUNY Morrisville in 1965, where he received an Associate's degree in Automotive Technology. In 1969, he received a B.S. degree in Automotive Engineering Technology from Western Michigan University and was recruited by Ford Motor Company in Detroit the same year. During this time he also received a Master?s degree from Western Michigan University and held numerous positions at Ford in customer service areas, including Service Representative, Owner Relations Manager, and Parts and Service Development Manager.


    In 1977, Tim moved back to upstate New York with his wife and family and opened Maguire Ford, in Trumansburg, NY. In 1983, the business expanded to Ithaca to include Maguire Ford Lincoln Mercury where it is still in operation at 504 South Meadow Street in downtown Ithaca. That same year, Tim realized that the success of a business depended completely on customer satisfaction. He started a policy of "no unhappy owners". This was the beginning of the Maguire Family Promise, and Tim was dedicated to taking personal responsibility and action to ensure customer satisfaction in every department. Customers can call him at home, even collect.


    Over the years, The Maguire Family of Dealerships has continued to grow to include a Chevrolet Dealership in Trumansburg in which his wife Fran is the dealer. In Ithaca, Tim and his son, Phil Maguire together manages the business which has grown to include: Ford, Lincoln, Nissan, Cadillac, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Hyundai, Subaru, Toyota, Scion, Mahindra, Kia, Volvo, Volkswagen, and Audi.

     

                    Tim and his family still live in the Trumansburg/Ithaca area.Over
                    the years they have been involved in school, church and civic
                    community activities. Tim says, "We were both raised in the area
                    and know of no better place to live and raise a family. We feel
                    very fortunate and lucky to be a part of this great community."

                    Even during the rapid growth of the company, both Tim and Phil

    Phil Maguire shares his family's passion for cars and has worked in the automotive industry for over 20 years.  With a background in automotive management, sales, and service experience in Michigan and Buffalo.  Phil is a graduate of Northwood University and earned a B.B.A. in Automotive Marketing Management.  He takes these skills with him as he serves as co-owner for Maguire Automotive.


    Phil, an entrepreneur at heart, takes pride in growing Maguire Family of Dealerships to new levels of excellence and innovation.  He is dedicated to taking personal responsibility and action to ensure customer satisfaction in every department.  He encourages customers to call him directly or to just stop by his office with their questions or concerns.  Phil and his young family live in the Trumansburg/Ithaca area and are commited and involved with community activities.  Phil enjoys spending time with his wife and son on their family run farm, Maguire Family Vineyards.  "I strive to constantly challenge myself - personally, professionally, and for our customers.  I truly want our customers to have the best experience they have ever had at a dealership, to feel that they are part of the family."

    Frank Vanderpool is the general manager of Maguire Automotive Imports, which is responsible for selling Toyota, Kia, Scion, Volvo, Volkswagen, and Audi vehicles. He first began in the car industry when he was attending college, working between semesters and fell in love with it. He's been involved for over 15 years now, and has been with Maguire for eight years. While working for the Maguire's, he has helped the company receive the President's Award in 2009 for Toyota, awarded for number one customer satisfaction in the country for the first quarter of 2009, and ranking number 13 in the country in the year 2007 in sales satisfaction.

    Frank has been married to his wife Jennifer for eight years, and they have a seven month old son together. He grew up in Waverly, NY and now lives in Seneca Falls, NY. He has a love for travel and meeting new people, which is one of the things that he loves about working in the car industry. Frank is a natural born leader and loves developing successful teams in the business. He enjoys working for the Maguire's because they're honest and fair people who supply with him all the tools necessary to do his job effectively.

    Austin Foote has been working for the Maguire's for two years and has been a part of the car industry for thirteen years. Prior to joining the car business he worked in other industries including farming and well drilling. But it was thanks to his father who worked in the car industry for 25 years that he was introduced to the car business in 1998. Because of his passion for and dedication to the industry, he has received many special recognition awards from numerous vehicle lines including Ford, Nissan, and Harley-Davidson.

    Austin enjoys working for Maguire because it is a successful family owned business with a rapid growth rate. He also enjoys the camaraderie with his fellow employees and being part of a hard working team.

    Dan Halladay is the general sales manager for Maguire Hyundai Subaru. He has been with Maguire Automotive for three years, since they purchased the dealership from Bill Cooke. He spent almost twenty years at Bill Cooke Imports, three of those years as assistant service manager.

    He is married to his wonderful wife Shari, who has been with Cornell University for over twenty years. They have two children, Heather and Derek.

    Dan loves working at Maguire for one simple reason - the people. He is appreciative of his team and that they truly care about satisfying customers and improving every day. Dan is proud to work for the Maguire's because they truly care about their employees. They promote family and focus on doing what is right for the customer.

    "I have been in Ithaca for so long and have developed so many friendships with our customers, it's nice when they come in for service or to look at another vehicle, it's like a friend stopping by to say hi."

    Jim started in the auto industry with no intention of making it a lifetime career.  He found that he truly enjoyed the business, and got him thinking about what a "Career" means and what he wanted to do.  Jim finds a great deal of satisfaction in working with clients through what is for the most part a persons second largets investment.

    Jim is a fourth generation resident of the Ithaca area.  He has been happily married to his wife Maggie since 1993, helped raise a daughter in this area and is now proud to say "I take every opportunity to spoil" his lovely granddaughter.

    Jim feels that "working at the Maguire Family of Dealerships is a very rewarding career with many opportunities for growth."  He sees the leadership at Maguries having a great vision for the future, and always on the cutting edge, truly being a leader in the Auto Industry.

    James Oppedisano has been working for Maguire Automotive for five years, and has been in the car industry for 15 years. He is a certified Toyota Consultant, Toyota Truck Champion, and in the past has been a certified consultant for Ford, Nissan, Honda and General Motors.

    James was born in upstate New York and is a first generation Italian American. His parents immigrated to the United States in the 1960's. He grew up enjoying the outdoors and still enjoys the many outdoor activities the Finger Lakes has to offer. His family has also been a part of the car industry for many years, and James enjoys the atmosphere of a car dealership. He also loves helping people find the perfect car for their lifestyle.

    James enjoys working for the Maguire's because they value family.

    Vince Marziano is the sales manager for Maguire Imports and oversees the selling of Audi, Volkswagen, and Volvo vehicles. He has been in the car business for eight years and has always had an enthusiasm for cars. He especially has a passion for classic cars, and owns a 1957 Chevy pickup.

     Prior to joining the car industry, Vince worked as a diesel mechanic in the military for 22 years. He has been stationed in various locations throughout the United States and Germany. He speaks Spanish, Italian, and German.

    Vince has been married for 25 years and he and his wife have two children. Family is very important to him and this is what he loves most about working for the Maguire's - their dedication to family is what drives their successful business.

    He looks forward to continuing to build his team and grow as part of the Maguire family of dealerships.

    Bob Sullivan is the sales manager for Maguire Chevrolet. He has been a part of the Maguire family of dealerships since May of 2010. He started in the auto industry in 1985 and has enjoyed his work ever since.

    Born and raised in Ithaca, NY, Bob has always loved the area, and moved to Trumansburg in 1988. He is married with two wonderful children. His daughter has been proudly serving in the United States Air Force for eleven years. His son currently works for the Maguire's at the Ford Nissan store.

    Bob loves working for the Maguire's because they are truly devoted to their customers and employees. He looks forward to continuing to build a long term relationship with the Maguire's.

    Matthew Compton is the sales manager for Maguire Chrysler. He has been in the car business for four and a half years, and has been with Maguire Automotive for the entire time. For two years in a row he has achieved perfect Customer Satisfaction Index scores, which are obtained by receiving perfect scores from every customer survey. He is also certified in Chevrolet and Subaru sales.

    Matthew was born and raised in Trumansburg, and he enjoys spending time in the outdoors and with his wife and son.

    He loves working for Maguire because of the family atmosphere that is valued. He enjoys meeting new people every day and helping each customer find the right car for their needs.

    Scott Muir is the service director for Maguire Hyundai Subaru. He has been with Maguire since September 2010, and has been in the car industry for 21 years. Scott holds all his certifications under the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, and holds ASE master certifications for wiring, electric, and driveability. He also holds I-CAR collision repair training certification in paint, body, and frame work.

    Scott is originally from Newburg, NY, and began working in a body shop when he was 14 years old. He is now married with two children and lives in Watkins Glen. He plays harmonica and sings in two different bands, and loves riding his motorcycle.

    He truly enjoys working at Maguire, and especially appreciates the good people he is privileged to meet and work with everyday. He loves the freedom the Maguire's give him to grow and work in new directions, and looks forward to many more years with the family of dealerships.

    Jim Pyle went to school in 1977 for automotive training at TST BOCES (The Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga Board of Cooperative Educational Services) for two years before getting his Associate of Science degree in automotive technology in 1978. His career started at Zikakis Imports in May of 1978. He worked there for 11 years before moving to Bill Cooke Imports in January of 1989. Over the years, Jim became trained and certified in the service of several makes of vehicles and as a result started participating in several award programs across the country.

    Starting in 1991 Jim participated in the Oldsmobile Master Elite program which recognized the top 20 scores nationwide of a 180 question written test. There were over 1,500 technicians that qualified to take the test each year, which Jim found himself in the top 20 from 1991 through 1995, earning Oldsmobile Master Technician Elite awards and trips around the country. In 1996 the Elite program was replaced with a team oriented Tournament of Champions that awarded the top 8 teams in each specialty category of service such as body work, electrical, transmission, etc. Each year that Jim participated, 1997 through 1999, his team was awarded the Champion title in the Electrical category.

    In 1998 and 1999 Cadillac Master Craftsman were eligible to take a 150 question proctored test to win a Caribbean cruise. The second year, they offered a new Cadillac Eldorado to the person with the highest overall score. Both years, Jim won top scores in the northeast region, winning the cruise trips and the new Cadillac.

    Jim also competed in the VISTA program, Volvo International Service Training Award, which is conducted every two years and is open to all Volvo master technicians in North America. The semi finals are held at each of the five regions to determine the top scoring competitors that will advance to the finals, with the chance to win a trip to Sweden. Jim achieved the VISTA winner status with a Sweden study trip in 2002, 2004, and 2006.

    Jim also has two sons who have followed in his footsteps. Brad Pyle is a graduate of the Toyota T-Ten program (Toyota Technical Education Network), a manufacturer technician training program. He began as an intern at Maguire Automotive in May of 2005, and is now a team leader. Bryan Pyle is currently in the Toyota T-TEN program and is completing his apprenticeship at Maguire.

    Don Landmesser has worked for Maguire Automotive for three years, having previously been part of the dealership under Bill Cooke. He has been an automotive technician for 28 years. His father was a diesel technician and taught Don to do his first oil change when he was 8 years old.

    Don spent 20 years as a technician with General Motors and is a GM Certified Technician. He completed the 2011 GM Service Manager training program with top honors. Don is also an ASE Master Technician, earned through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.

    He is married and has an 18 year old son and a 21 year old daughter. He is also a proud new grandfather to his five month old grandson.

    Don enjoys working for Maguire Automotive because everyone gets along so well, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.

    Jason Smith is the service director at Maguire Chevrolet. He has worked for the Maguire's for four years, and has been in the car industry for eight years.
